The University of Denver men's lacrosse team is one of the top programs in the nation and a proud partner of Warrior Sports and New Balance. The DU uniform garners a lot of attention as the top sponsored partner of Warrior/NB, often becoming a template for high school and youth lacrosse programs nationwide. I was very excited to be tasked with creating this important design.

 

We discussed ideas with the DU staff on their likes, dislikes, and asks for this year's uniforms. As with many prior years, and collegiate lacrosse in general, a clean and minimal striped uniform was requested. I began with a sheet of multiple sleeve stripe options and stripe options for the shorts and submitted them to the coaching staff. With their selections and a few tweaks we were off and running.

For the first time in 10 seasons under current coach Bill Tierney, the team would don black uniforms as an alternate colorway in 2019. The uniforms were debuted against Tierney's long-time former team, Princeton University, where his then Tigers lifted one of his seven NCAA titles.

The black uniforms were well received and were even nominated for "Uniform of the Year" by the popular sports uniform news website, Uni-Swag.
